Hellbroth:

Infusion:
In Medieval witchcraft and sorcery, the nickname for a magickal potion boiled in a
cauldron and consisting of various repulsive ingredients. Most hellbroths were poisonous
or hallucinogenic by nature, and almost always used in the arts of black magick.(also
known as the left hand path)
A potion or brew made pouring boiling water over enchanted herbs, cooling and then
straining; a witches tea used for magickal, medicinal, or divinatory purposes. Most
infusions are drunk in order for their magickal or healing powers to work. However, there
are a number of witches and other practitioners of the arts who use certain infusions for
anointment or to add magickal energies to ritual baths.
Grimoire:
A magickal workbook with information on rituals, magickal properties of natural objects,
preparation of ritual equipment, spells, and etc. A book of shadows is another term for
it. The most famous of the old grimoires is probably The Key Of Solomon. Most were first
committed to paper in the 16th and 17th centuries though they may be far older.
Handfasting:
A Wiccan, Pagan, or Gypsy wedding. More broadly, any wedding or betrothal.
Herb:
A plant used in magick. Herbs are usually strongly scented and are prized for their
specific energies. Includes trees, ferns, grasses, seaweeds, vegetables, fruits, and
flowering plants.
Herbalism:
The practice of cultivating, gathering, and using plants for medicinal, cosmetic, ritual,
and culinary purposes.
Herb Magick:
The practice of directing energies found within plants to create needed change. A branch
of magick. Practitioners utilize personal power as well as other forms of energy, such as
colors, candles, stones, sounds, gestures, and movements.
Incubus:
A male demon or spirit that was believed to sexually tempt and abuse women.
Invocation:
An appeal or petition to a specific conception of Deity. A prayer. A request for a Deity's
appearance or attendance during a ritual. Also, a mystical practice that produces an
awareness of Deity within.

*Note from the author: There is a Rock band by the name of
"Incubus" that is pretty popular. I ,as a matter of fact liked their
music. When I actually confirmed what the band's name ment (I had heard it in my 35+
years of practicing the Craft, but somehow suppressed it.) I now am on a personal crusade
to get people not to listen/buy their music. It not only puts us women back
in the Dark Ages, but insults our intelligence as well. I urge you to pass this
information along to your friends, and encourage them to do the same. People like
this who degrade women & have no lack of respect for them need to be stopped in
their tracts!
